This study examines Australian teachers (n = 268) and parents’ 206) self-reported perceptions of education news coverage how the affects them. Overall, participants reported a perception that teachers, schools, system standardised testing was generally negative in tone. Participants typically feeling demoralised by stories inspired positive stories. A high importance placed upon public participants. However, trust media reporting educational issues low. An exception to this general pattern findings did not place as much being less affected or on topic compared other aspects. research is one few studies investigate potential emotional impact can have consumers.
